I have to rip a lot of battens. I bought several cheap items off of amazon and none of them worked well at all. Some did not have enough adjustment to do what I needed.
I bought the Compass RG-2. When it arrived, it came in the usual awesome packaging, and it arrived early. It is way over designed and over built but who cares it's worth every penny. I've been using it for about two weeks and I'm still in love.
I hope that Harvey comes out with more tools like the Compass RG-2. Thanks for your time. A happy customer.

I haven’t yet ordered a shaper with a power feed for my shop, so I needed something better than a standard featherboard to keep material pressed tightly against the fence while routing white oak for 5- and 9-foot lock miter beams. After trying just about every major brand featherboard over the past 25 years, the Compass RG-2 excelled where others fell short. If precision matters to you, give this a try.
It is quality combined with function.
I purchased the RG-2 roller guide to replace shop-made featherboards that I had been clamping to the table on my old cabinet saw that had a smaller table than my Harvey. I had been considering a magnetic type and am glad I postponed that purchase. I have yet to use the RG-2 but it is well-designed and robust so I anticipate that it will function accordingly.
A brilliant piece of engineering; nothing else like it!
Great product, however i wish there was provision to use vertically on the big eye fence to apply downward pressure.
I must say, the price seemed rather high when you consider that you can purchase or even make "feather boards" for much less money. However, I saw it on sale so I took the leap and I am so glad I did. In retrospect, I now see this tool as essential and I wouldn't want to be without it.
It proved itself for me just yesterday when I had to rip 14' long pieces of white oak for a faux beam. With a board that long since you have to stand so far away from the saw to start the cut, it's very difficult to get and keep the material against the fence and get a perfect edge. The Compass RG-1 made it simple. It presses the material against the fence and helps keep it there so you don't have to work so hard to "guide" the material between the blade and the fence. The cuts turned out excellent. I'm a huge fan and I highly recommend it!
What a beautifully built product! Haven’t put it thought it’s paces yet but just from holding in my hand I can tell it will do it’s job well. Thanks for another well built tool.
A real help when resawing. Also, customer service staff were great to work with!
Maybe be expensive but well worth the money. Easy to setup and holds boards tight to the fence
