Spider Mobile Base

This base is a game changer! Moves like a dream with heavy machinery, stays level and looks great. The design is such that it can be used on almost any brand of equipment and not limited to Harvey. I will recommend this to anyone that is looking for a mobile base.
The only drawback are the instructions. None were included with my base, but it is available as a downloaded PDF online. However, they are terrible. Harvey does have videos available, and they are much, much better. Bottom line: If you need a quality base buy this and make sure to watch the video.

Excellent engineering and rolls super smooth. Expensive but you get what you pay for

After receiving the Spider Pro Mobile Base, I finally got the chance to mount my drill press on top it by gluing two 3/4" pieces of plywood together, drilling holes near each corner of the plywood and then drilling holes in the angle plates that the tool would sit on otherwise and bolting the plywood to the mobile base and then bolting the drill press to the plywood. I have rolled this around the shop some and the mobile base and drill press seems to be very stable.

I am very pleased with the quality and design of the mobile base.

Spider Mobile Base

The Spyder mobile base with extension just ROCKS, you won't be disappointed with the design, quality, and best of all the ease of use rolling your Alpha cabinet saw around the shop, everything just fits perfectly. My Alpha cabinet saw got delivered first and I waited 2 months with my pre-order of the Spyder base, the wait was painful. But now I have to say it was well worth the wait and the $$$ spent.

This is the Cadillac of mobile bases. The wheels are large enough to roll well on a rough concrete floor. The parts are super solid and beautifully machined and finished. The assembly was very intuitive. Had to be because it didn’t come with directions. The only element I have reservations about is the foot lever mechanism. I am not convinced the two set screws and the pressure fitting is the best solution for the torque required to lift 1500 pounds of machine. Fortunately I’ve only got to lift 500 pounds. A keying or inset screw would be more assuring. The price is significant, but there is no denying that the quality is at another level to what I’ve found with other mobile bases. This is my third proprietary brand base. It is hands down my favorite.

I purchased two pro models, one for my Grizzly Table Saw and One for my Band Saw. Finally I can roll both of these machines around almost with one hand!! As usual the engineering and build quality is impeccable as with all Harvey Products. I had other dolly systems on both machines but they didn’t work very well. The Spider is expensive but I would say definitely worth the price if you want mobility in your shop.

The main mobile base is absolutely killer and exactly what I needed. The extension base also competes the package and makes me much more mobile in my tiny garage shop. The only issue is the t track alignment on the extension arm. The t bolts connecting the arm to the base of the extension, did not like to fully seat themselves and when applying the wirght of the lead of the table saw one of them begin to pull out. It took a few tries but it eventually seated correctly but the flange is a little crooked now. I’ll add that my saw is 52 inch 3 horse Harvey saw with the full router set up on the end of the saw which adds a ton of weight to the other end. This might be the issue as the weight on the light end of the saw is drastically higher with the cast iron wing, router fence and big ol’ 3 hp router motor with JessEm lift.
